Nestled in the natural scenery of West Lusatia with its rolling hills, dense forests, and fantastic views, the Pulsnitz area is a year-round paradise for active people. But there is also much of significance to discover and admire in terms of culture and craftsmanship.

Schützenhaus Cultural Monument

In the heart of tranquil Pulsnitz, this prestigious inn and accommodation stands on the southwestern edge of town, just a few minutes' walk from the center. Serving as a link between the Pulsnitz market square and the train station, the historic building complex and its postal milestone are located on the prominent corner at Wettinplatz. With over 180 years of history and its distinctive architectural appearance, the Schützenhaus is a defining part of the Pulsnitz cityscape.

Getting here

Coming via the highway, Pulsnitz is a half-hour drive from Dresden.

  • Via the A4 highway from the Dresden area or from the opposite direction from Bautzen
  • A4 exit number 85 - Großröhrsdorf/Pulsnitz or, from the other direction, Ohorn/Pulsnitz
  • Once in Pulsnitz, follow signs toward Steina/Kamenz
  • The "Schützenhaus" is located directly at the intersection of Wettinstraße, Bischofswerdaer Straße, and Bahnhofstraße (Wettinplatz)

  • By S-Bahn from Dresden Main Station, Arnsdorf-Kamenz line
  • Get off at Pulsnitz station
  • A 10-minute walk along Bahnhofstraße toward the city center, or alternatively one stop by bus to Wettinplatz

  • By regional bus from Dresden-Bühlau via Radeberg
  • In Pulsnitz, get off at the Wettinplatz bus stop, which is in the immediate vicinity of the Schützenhaus, next to the entrance to the Lindengarten
  • Both the Pulsnitz bus station and the train station are one bus stop away

The municipal parking area behind the Schützenhaus was once the site of marksmen's festivals and the practice grounds for the Pulsnitz marksmen's guilds. Today, day guests will find free parking in this spacious area.

Overnight guests at the Schützenhaus can also use the on-site parking spaces for small cars. The area is locked at night.

The central Schützenplan has established itself as an ideal starting point for hikers, cyclists, and city visitors. Day guests will find a good infrastructure here,
with connections to public transport, the regional cycle path network, and designated hiking trails for short loops or longer excursions.
